Serie A: AC Milan beat Parma 2-0

Rome: Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Urby Emanuelson scored one goal each as league leaders AC Milan beat Parma 2-0 in the Italian Serie A.

Ibrahimovic gave Milan the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute and Emanuelson added a second 10 minutes into the second half Saturday.

Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri explained how his confidence in Emanuelson and some playing time had helped the player grow.

"When you pick players, they gain in confidence. Emanuelson played on the right and did very well, while he can also be used as a left-back," he was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

"I consider him important because he can cover various positions and at the moment he is doing well as the attacking midfielder.

"He has very clean technique, knows how to pass smartly and this is very important for us. We are clinical and that is an important quality for all teams. However, we were a little more wasteful after taking the lead and that is something we have to work on," he added.(IANS)
