London: English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers signed former Rangers winger on a free transfer, the club confirmed Saturday.
Scottish club Rangers finances are in a mess after the club filed for administration. Many of the stars have already left the team after non-payment of salaries and Wylde was one of the first players to attempt to help the beleaguered club by agreeing to terminate his contract earlier in the week.
Many Premier League clubs were in the running to sign the talented winger in the January transfer window but no deals were made.
"To capture a player of Gregg Wylde's talent is a fantastic bit of business for the football club, especially given the interest that was shown in him by a number of other Premier League teams," manager of Bolton, Owen Coyle was quoted as saying by ESPN Soccernet.
"He is young, quick and exciting, and has played at a very high level with Glasgow Rangers, both domestically and in Europe.
"Gregg is a creator and scorer of goals. We are thrilled to have him on board and everyone is looking forward to working with him." (IANS)
