Liverpool: A brilliant hat-trick by Steven Gerrard helped Liverpool beat rivals Everton 3-0 here at the Anfield on Tuesday to end their losing streak in the English Premier League.

The host started exerting dominance and tried to make inroads early on in the match but could reap any success in their endeavors. They kept the pressure on and could draw the first blood only in the 30th minute when Gerrard found the back of the nets from the edge of the box.

They went into the half time with the score line reading 1-0. Five minutes in the second half, Gerrard scored again after receiving a pass from Luis Suarez.

The Reds maintained their domination over Everton and did not let them settle in the match. Gerrard scored his third goal in the match in the injury time to seal Everton’s fate. In course his hat-trick he became the first player in over 76 years to score three goals in the Merseyside derby.
