Andre Villas Boas sacked as Chelsea’s Manager

London: Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich sacked manager Andre Villas Boas and gave over the reins to Boas’s assistant Roberto Di Matteo till the end of the season.

He served as the manager for only eight months and the decision after string of bad performances by Chelsea with winning only three of their last 12 matches.

Abramovich is not happy with his players as well and they are next in line of fire and indicated that the future of the likes of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard would be decided during the summers.

With the Boas no more the manager, Chelsea is expected to rope in either Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola or their former manager Jose Mourinho currently serving Real Madrid.
