New Delhi: Riding on a two quick goals in the second half, Kerala’s Golden Thread beat Mumbai’s PIFA Colaba FC 2-0, in the 2nd division I League clash, played at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi, on Sunday.

Arun KJ in 52nd minute and Akabougu Chimezie in 56th minute scored a piece to help Golden Threads to secure all the three points against Mumbai side.

The first half saw both teams starting cautiously and hardly made any attempt at the rivals post. The situation remained the same for rest of the half. Hence, it ended goalless.

Changing over, Golden Threads looked different team altogether, they looked as if they are in hurry to finish the match.

Eventually, Threads scored two quick goals within four minutes. First it was Arun KJ in 52nd and then four minutes later Akabougu

Chimezie doubled the lead to stamp the decision.

With this win Golden Threads have 3 points from 2 matches while PIFA have only single points from 2 outings.

Mohammedan scrape past Vasco

Mohammedan Sporting SC scored their second straight victory in the 2nd division I League encounter, while playing against Vasco SC, at the Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi, on Sunday.

The solitary goal of the match was scored by Alfred K Jaryan in the 55th minute.

The high temper match started on the aggressive note with both the Kolkata and Goan rivals kept attacking each other post.

The match saw solitary goal in the 55th minute, when Alfred K, latched on a rebound, after ball kissed the bar post and fell into his foot to which he calmly tapped in with perfection.

Though, the Goan side made some very good move in the dying minutes, but without any success.

The match ended with Mohammedan Sporting collecting all the points.
