Shillong: Pune FC came from behind to hold Shillong Lajong FC 1-1 in a round 17 match of the I-League at JN Sports Complex on Sturday. Tuboi scored for Lajong in the 51st minute while Mandjou Keita pulled it back for the visitors in the 71st. Lajong moved to 18 points from 17 matches while Pune FC are on 28 points from 17 matches.
Lajong kicked off the game in an electrifying mood and created some good moves. In the 13th minute, Eugeneson Lyngdoh missed from close. And then in the 28th minute, Boithang Haokip failed to hold onto a John Menyongar cross.
Pune FC slowly picked up the rhythm and in the 33rd minute, they came close when as Gurjinder Kumar’s header hit the barpost.
Changing over, Seikhohau Tuboi broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when he gently tapped in a Lalramluaha pass to put Lajong in the lead.
Pune went all out in the attack and pulled it back twenty minutes later. Lajong defender Wailadmi Passah handled the ball inside the penalty box and Mandjou Keita gleefully converted from the spot.
Pune FC’s Subhash Singh was adjudged the Man-of-the-match.
