Subroto Cup: Solid start by Club Atletico, Shillong Lajong

Brazil vs Mohun Bagan subroto cup2New Delhi: With two finals over and two U-17 Boys quarterfinals having been already identified in the ongoing 57th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, the concentration in the last leg of the event was back to the remaining Junior Boys pool matches which got underway both at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium and NWC grounds today. 
Incidentally, this leg will also see some of the club teams, all pooled together in G and H, vying for the knockout stage place. With UAE and Las Vegas FC not reporting after entering, these pools have been left with five teams each, instead of six as per the original draw, indicating to interesting contests for top places in these pools. 
Club Atletico Paraneanse from Brazil sounded a big warning to the rest of the team in fray with a 11-0 win over Mohun Bagan FC at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium in the afternoon match in pool G but Central Coast Mariners FC from Australia was caught on the wrong foot when it went down 0-2 to ShillongLajong FC in pool H. 
However, Tata Football Academy, Jamshedpur, defeated FC Pune City 2-0 and the Afghanistan National Football team scored 1-0 triumph over DKS Shivajians LIFA when SadiqZahire hit the target in the 42nd minute in pool G.
The boys of the Brazilian team dominated from start to finish, opening with a second minute goal and ending the match with a goal in the 70th minute. J. Victor M Gomes, Bruno Da Silva Coasta scored three goals each while Danilo Santana (2), Kennedy Zaneti, Pedro Ramos and Andre Domingos scored to seal the fate of the Kolkata club side.
Lyngdoh scored both the goals against the Australian team which was too cautious as the boys from Meghalaya were too strong and methodical in their approach. Kilong and DipakRajak were the scorers for the TFA.
In the morning matches played at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Junior National Talent Scouting Project JLN Stadium, New Delhi (SAI)beatUkhrulHr Sec School fromManipur 3-0 in pool E with Shijit, Arif and Karan scoring the for the winners as they led 2-0 in the first half. 
In other matches in the same pool, played at NWC, Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodi Road, New Delhi, scored a 2-0 victory over Shri Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, while it was
SudhannyaDebbarma Memorial HS School from Tripura handed out a similar verdict against M.W.E Hr School, Nagar Panchayat Chhetra from Munger (Bihar). It was a one-individual show in both as Karan scored a brace for the Delhi outfit and VatraSadhanJamatia scored a goal in each half for Tripura. 
As for pool F matches, Namchi Public School, South Sikkim, struck half a dozen goals against Govt. Senior Secondary School from Car Nicobar, without a reply, Govt High School, Lunglei (Mizoram) drew 1-1 with DG NCC and Banimandir Railway H.S. School from Siliguri defeated Bangladesh DefenceShaheen College 4-0 to start their campaign on a bright note.
The Namchi schoolboys played with full of verve throughout the 70 minutes of game, having opened their account as early as in the fourth minute through Silash Rai and completed a hat-trick by the beginning of the second session. The Sikkim boys added three more Gyurmee, Sonam D. Bhutia and Bishal Rai.
After Koushik Das put NCC ahead towards the end of first half, Silvana equalized in the injury time just before the final hooter was sounded. For the Railways, Joydeep Das, though failed to complete a hat-trick, did the star turn with three strikes while KingshukDatta was the other scorer for them.
