Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he will be joining Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The 34-year-old has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and the speculation surrounding the striker's future has come to an end when the player himself confirmed his move on social networking sites, Twitter and Instagram.
He posted on Instagram, "Time to let the world know. My next destination is @manchesterunited #iamcoming."
The former Barcelona and Juventus striker's contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired on June 30 and he is a free agent in the summer. He will now become new United manager Jose Mourinho's second summer signing at Old Trafford, following the capture of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
He was included in the Sweden squad for the Rio 2016 Olympics. However, after his side crashed out from the group stages of the Euro 2016, Ibrahimovic confirmed retirement from international football.
Earlier in June, there were several rumours of him being linked with a move to join the 20-time English champions. However, he refused to fuel more speculations and suggested that he will announce his next club once he is bored.
"I want to still write a lot of stories," Ibrahimovic said, as quoted by the Express. "I get excited when I see them because I want to see who is making up the best story. When I'm tired of it, I'll let you know where I will go."
A true man of his words and the recently retired Swedish international has kept his word. The Daily Mail reported that the frontman is set to receive a loyalty bonus if he decides to officially sign a contract with a new club before his contract at PSG expires on June 30.
Ibrahimovic will now join Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney, Will Keane and James Wilson as the list of strikers at Old Trafford. It is believed that United captain could be deployed in the No 10 role or in the midfield, while the France international is set to play on the wide positions.
Keane and Wilson are unlikely to be included in Mourinho's plan for the 2016-17 season and could be allowed to leave on loan.
