ISL 2016 season could witness presence of one more international star as Atletico de Kolkata is trying to fix a deal with Uruguayan international star Diego Forlán hoping to sign him as a marquee player for this upcoming season. Sources confirmed ATK already have a round of talk with him.
Forlan, the Golden Ball winner at 2010 FIFA World Cup is currently playing in Uruguayan club Penarol. Besides representing Uruguay maximum 122 times in international circuit, Forlan scored 32 goals for his country. Specially known for his outstanding free kick taking ability, Forlan has a long international club career playing in clubs like Manchester, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan .
Moving to the other news, Mumbai City FC renew one year contract with Haitian International Sony Norde for upcoming season. Norde, who is now playing in Copa Centenario in USA for Haity national team, has a very successful season for playing with Mohun Bagan. He has awarded as best player of I-league 2015-16 season when Bagan slipped to retain the title for very narrow margin. He has a good contribution to Mohun Bagan's Federation Cup Winning campaign also.
Kerala Blasters, reportedly, is about to sign three Mumbai FC players -Sandip Nandy , Pratik Chowdhury and India U-19 player Prashant for this season. Veteran Nandi has a very successful club career playing for all the major clubs in India. He has represented Indian National team as well. Pratik Chowdhury once released by Mohun Bagan was a regular player for Mumbai FC in last I league season.
