Mumbai FC aim for fifth straight win in match against RCF

MFC-against-RCFMumbai: Mumbai: League leaders Mumbai FC face Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) in the MDFA Elite Division on 23rd November at Cooperage Football Stadium, Mumbai.

Mumbai are on a roll as having won their first four matches in a row which has provided them with a 5 point lead at the top of the table. RCF come into the game with only one point in as many games will provide a tough challenge for Mumbai. “Each match is different from the other. Football is unpredictable. We go into each match looking for nothing else than a win because when we attempt to do that, in our mind we are trying to give our best shot.” said Khalid Jamil – Mumbai Head Coach.

He added, “Yes, winning the game will give us a lot of breathing space in the league but I am only concerned about the game right now. I have always said that the Elite Division league is a great way to prepare for the upcoming season.”

One of Mumbai’s latest signings, Collin Abranches, looks forward to the game as he looks to get back on the field after a long-term injury. “I am really eager to get back on the pitch. It’s been nine months since I played last and I have been missing playing football. I don’t know if the gaffer has decided to play me against RCF or not but if he does, I’ll give my best. I feel stronger than ever.”

On the performances of Mumbai in the Elite League he said, “We have been scoring a lot of goals which is a big plus point. This is the best way to prepare for the new season as it provides us with game time and builds our fitness.”

Mumbai are at the top of the MDFA Elite Division table with 12 points in four games.
