Pune FC set off for Federation Cup challenge

Pune FC have their task cut out against Sesa FAPune: Pune FC has announced a 20-member provisional squad for the Federation Cup that begins in Jamshedpur from Wednesday, 19th September, 2012.
 
Clubbed in Group-D along with defending champions Salgaocar SC, Prayag United SC and newly promoted United Sikkim SC, Pune FC begins their campaign against United Sikkim SC on Thursday, 20th September 2012.
 
The squad named for the tournament includes the foreign signings – Japanese attacking midfielder Daisuke Nishiguchi and South Sudan striker James Moga.
 
Excluded from the side are goalkeeper Abhra Mondal, defender Othallo Tabia and midfielders Nikhil Kadam, Sukhwinder Singh who are all recovering from injuries.
 
The Federation Cup is the second tournament of the 2012-13 season for Pune FC. Earlier, Pune Fc figured in the Durand Cup.
 
Pune FC, so far, have played in four Federation Cups, which includes the qualifying round way back in 2008.
      
The team departed from the city on Monday.
