Bangalore: Pune FC showed character to come back from behind to beat Hindustan Aeronautics Limited 6-4 in an I-League match on Tuesday. Down by a Rohit Chand goal in the first minute, Pune came back strongly to take a 4-1 lead by the interval.
But HAL, spurred on by Rohit, who went on to score a hat-trick came back strongly in the second half as they matched Pune FC for pace and counter-attacked with purpose. But a stubborn Pune FC defence managed to hold on.
With the victory, Pune FC moved to the second spot in the I-League table with 42 points from 23 matches while HAL who became the first team to be relegated from the present edition of the I-League stay on 8 points from 23 matches.
