I-League: Mumbai FC to take on Pailan Arrows

I-League: Mumbai FC to take on Pailan ArrowsPune: Mumbai FC will take on Pailan Arrows in a 24th round I-League encounter at the Balewadi Sports Complex Stadium on Tuesday. Mumbai FC who are battling to avoid relegation have 20 points from 23 matches are just three points above Chirag United Kerala, also a team in the relegation zone at present. However, Khalid Jamil coached Mumbai FC would take heart from their last-round victory against Shillong Lajong.

On the other hand, Pailan Arrows with 8 points from 20 outings are still searching for their first win of the Championship.

Pailan Coach Sujit Chakraborty stays aware of the challenge ahead. “The match is a tough for us. They performed well during the earlier stages but slipped a bit later. They will come hard on us,” he expressed.

“It’s never going to be an easy match for us.”

“The boys are motivated. The fighting spirit was evident despite our loss to Prayag United in our last match. But they lack the experience and it’s hampering us,” he maintained.

“We need to overcome our mistakes. There are been matches in which silly mistakes cost us three points. In our last match against Prayag, defensive lapses let us down,” he explained.

The last time the two teams met, the match ended 1-1.

Mumbai FC would stay keen not to let the opportunity slip. A win against Pailan would give them a six-point cushion against Chirag United, Kerala. Not to forget, they would bank on their home support to see them through.
