Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders meet each other at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Saturday.

A few matches earlier Punjab looked all set and ready to qualify for the Final four having won 5 out of their six matches. However, the Kings have lost a bit of momentum after that and things have started to look a little bit dismal for the Punjab franchise. KL Rahul has appeared to be the team’s solo warrior in the last couple of games and Punjab would hope that their brittle middle order finally comes to the party going to the business end of the tournament.

KKR too stitched a few wins together early in the tournament but have struggled to get going in the second half making things difficult for themselves. KKR are coming on the back of a big defeat of a 102 runs against the Mumbai Indians and they should bring the disappointment of that match into this game, otherwise that might affect their performance in this game.

Eyes will once again be on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. Gayle, now has had, 2 quiet scores in the tournament and in a wicket like Indore, if Gayle gets going, nobody can stop Punjab from getting a massive total on the board. From that middle order, Karun Nair has got starts but has failed to convert them into innings of significance, Punjab would hope that he has saved his bets for the remainder of the tournament.

Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik are the proper batsmen that have done it for KKR in the past but a lot has also depended on Sunil Narine’s impetus at the top- his little but affective cameos. KKR fans will hope that all of them come good together today. Shubman Gill, if fit, is expected to return to the playing XI
