At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 4 wickets. This was Rajasthan’s 5th win in 11 matches, while the fourth defeat for Chennai in as many matches. With 10 points from 11 matches, RR are pretty much alive in the competition with the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders also having 10 points. RR though are 6th at the points table because of a lower net run rate.
On Friday at their home ground in Jaipur, RR lost the toss and were invited to field first. With the help of Suresh Raina’s 52, CSK scored 176 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, it was Jos Buttler once again who rescued his team from a tricky situation and came to the dressing room only after he had finished the game for his team remaining unbeaten on 95.
Rajasthan got to the target with 1 ball to spare and kept their hopes alive. Buttler was adjudged the Player of the Match for his fourth consecutive half century in the tournament.
