Yusuf Pathan (27*) and Kane Williamson’s (32*) solid batting at a high pressure situation helped SRH stay at the top of the table with a win against the Delhi Daredevils on Saturday (May 5). This was SRH’s 7th win in tournament and with a good run rate to complement, SRH are at the top of the points table.
On Saturday, the double header day, Chennai defeated Bangalore to get to the top of the points table but only for a few hours before SRH got back there with a thrilling win over DD. At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, SRH won the match by 7 wickets. Delhi batted first and riding on Prithvi Shaw’s 65 reached at 163 runs after 20 overs.
In response, Hyderabad got there with a ball to spare. Needing 14 to win of the last over, Yusuf Pathan kept his cool to score a four and a six and helped SRH cross the line. SRH’s Rashid Khan who picked up 2 wickets for just 23 runs was given the Player of the Match Award.
