In the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings won the 7th match of the league stage on Saturday and took a step closer to a place in the Play offs. MS Dhoni’s CSK defeated the Virat Kohli led Bangalore by 6 wickets at the MCA stadium in Pune. This was Chennai’s second win over RCB in the season and the sixth straight win against RCB in IPL history.
Prior to this CSK had also defeated the Bangalore side in 2014 and 2015 in all their encounters before facing a 2-year suspension from the tournament. Bangalore batted first at the Pune Wicket and scored 127 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Parthiv Patel (53), who was playing his first game of the season, top scored for them with a handy half century. However, no one else showed temperament and RCB could only manage 127 runs.
In response, CSK got there losing only 4 wickets in the process. Ambati Rayudu (32) got them off to a good start once again and when the required run rate was just about to soar beyond reach, MS Dhoni, finished it off for CSK, with a timely 31*. Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged the Player of the Match for his 3 wicket spell in a T20 tournament.
