Batting first, despite of a century partnership between Ishan Kishan (58) and Suryakumar Yadav (72), Mumbai Indians made a 167 runs. In response, RR needed 28 of final 2 overs and an expensive penultimate over helped RR’s equation for a win. With 10 needed of the final over, RR won the match with 2 balls to spare.
This was Rajasthan’s third win in sixth game, while it was the fourth defeat for the Mumbai Indians in 5 matches. Jofra Archer, made an impressive IPL debut, and picked up 3 wickets in a great spell of fast bowling. Archer was adjudged the player of the match for his performance. RR are now at the 5th place on points table, while MI stay at 7th position.
