As Virender Sehwag turned 38 today, let us look at his five best innings in Test cricket:

309, Multan, 2004: Virender Sehwag became first Indian to score a triple century. He scored 309 against Pakistan to register India's first Test win in Pakistan. He completed his triple century with a six and became the first batsman ever to do so. He completed this feat so effortlessly to earn the name of ‘Multan ka Sultan’

319, Chennai, 2008: He achieved another milestone in his career by hitting fastest triple centuries off 278 deliveries against South Africa. This inning of Viru is still the highest Test score by an Indian. Unlike any Test cricketer’s innings, he hit 42 fours and 5 sixes with a strike rate of 104.93.

293, Mumbai, 2009: Sehwag continued to scale heights in Test cricket and achieved the feat of most double centuries by an Indian and most runs by an Indian in a day. He also achieved a record of second highest 250+ score. In this inning of 293 against Sri Lanka, he hit 40 fours and 7 sixes with a strike rate of 115.35. India achieved No 1 test ranking after this win against Sri Lanka.

151, Adelaide, 2008: This inning of Virender Sehwag against Australia is remembered for saving a Test match from the moth of certain defeat. The rest of the big names could only manage 54 runs between them. It was not the usual Virender Sehwag innings as he played calmly and scored with an strike rate of 63.98 with 11 fours and two sixes.

 201, Sri Lanka, 2008: He scored 201 against Sri Lanka with 22 fours and 4 sixes. Sehwag score helped India win this match by 170 runs. This inning from Sehwag helped India to register a win against Sri Lanka in a series where India could not win any other match.
