Defending champions England will find it tough to retain their title

Defending champions England will find it tough to retain their titleDefending champions England will know that they will find it tough to retain their title going by the conditions they will face in Sri Lanka, where the ICC T20 World Cup will be played.

Despite being the defending champions, England do not start thetournament as one of the favourites and they will have to play really well if they want to be in the semi-finals. They will definitely miss Kevin Pietersen who played a pivotal role in their title winning effort.

England team prefer to have different teams for different formats and only time will tell whether the ploy works for them this time around.

England have a very young batting line-up and that will be a cause of worry for them. Their openers Michael Lumb and Craig Kieswetter did really well in the last World Cup and the England will be expecting same sort of performance from them. Ravi Bopara is a talented batsman but he has struggled a lot in the recent past.

He will have to be at his best because he is considered to be a good player against spin bowling. Eoin Morgan will hold the key for England in the middle overs. He is a brilliant manoeuvre of the ball and has the ability to play big strokes when needed. England are blessed with bowlers who can bat well and that will surely help them in crunch situation.

England bowling is their strong point as they have some very good pace bowlers. Captain Stuart Broad has evolved as a bowler and is one of the best going around. Then they have the pace of Steven Finn and the variations of Jade Dernbach. Graeme Swann along with Saeej Ajmal is the best spinner going around. He loves bowling to left-handers and is a genuine game changer.
