Zimbabwe can spring some surprises in T20 World Cup

zimbabweZimbabwe as a team rarely gets an opportunity to play against good sides. Their best chance comes during ICC events and they will be hoping to put up a good show in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Zimbabwe as a team has done well in the ICC tournaments in the past, but off late they have faded as a potent threat to their opponents.

Zimbabwe will depend a lot on their captain Brendon Taylor. He is the biggest striker in the team and has played some match winning knocks in his career. He played in the recently concluded Sri Lanka Premier League and his experience of playing in the Sri Lankan conditions will help the entire team. They also have Hamilton Masakadza and al lot will depend on the start he gives to his team. He is one of the most experienced cricketers in the side and a lot will be expected from him.

Vusi Sibanda will also be a key player in the top order. He is a clean striker of the ball and likes to lift the bowlers over the top. In the middle-order Craig Ervine is quite capable of playing a decent little knock.

In the bowling department, Chris Mpofu will lead the pace bowling attack. He is tall and uses his height to get awkward bounce from the pitch. He is very consistent with his line and length and can cause batsmen problems with the new ball. In the spin department, Zimbabwe have Ray Price who is very experienced. He is one of the most economical bowlers in this format and he will definitely be an asset to the team. He will be well supported by former captain Prosper Utseya. Utseya uses flight to a good effect and have the ability to deceive batsmen in the air.

Overall, Zimbabwe will be delighted if they manage to go into the super eights.
