India thrashed by an innings and 37 runs

Perth: Australia defeated India by an innings and 37 runs on Sunday here to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India who finished the second day on 88 for loss of four wickets did put an early resistance with Kohli and Dravid showing up some resistance.

 

With scorecard reading 135, Ryan Harris uprooted Dravid’s leg stump hence starting the collapse and after that all the other fell like nine pins. India were bowled for 171within three days and this is the second time that Australia won without having to bat again in the second innings. Virat Kohli top scored for the visitors with 75 runs. For the hosts, wrecker in chief was Ben Hilfenhaus who scalped four wickets by giving away 54 runs. David Warner was adjudged as the man of the match for his swashbuckling 180 in the first innings.
