Chandigarh: St Anne’s School outplayed St John’s School and registered a seven wickets victory, in the first match of the 14th Blessed Edmond Rice Cricket Tournament, held at St John’s School, here today.

In the first innings, St John’s School just managed a minimum total of 88 runs in 19 overs followed by Akhil (23) and Ajay (14) contributing in team’s total. For the bowling side, Simarpreet and Jason took two wickets each.

In reply, opponent team won the match at ease as they cross the target for the loss of 3 wickets in 11.1 overs. Shivam (28) and Savrabh(15) were among highest runs scorer. For St John’s, Abhishak and Sahil took one wicket each.

In another match, Government Model High School, Sector 26, defeated St Stephen School, Sector 45, by 17 runs.
