New Delhi: Pulkit Narang and Susheel Gaur guided St Sophia School, Paschim Vihar to a one wicket victory over Ravindra Public School(RPS), Pitampura to knock them out of the Coca-Cola Under-16 Inter School Tournament played here at the Parmarth.
Pulkit and Susheel took three wickets each helping their team bowl out RPS to a meager score of 135 in 28.5 overs. Vivek Bhatu of RPS scored 30 and was the only notable contributor with the bat.
St. Sophia School struggled to achieve the target as they lost nine wickets. Shivank Vashishit held his nerves and scored 22 to steer his team to achieve the target in 29.2 overs.
Ravindra Public School’s bowlers showed a great team spirit as Siddhant Sharma, Ajay Rana, Anuj Rai and Vivek Bhatu took two wickets each but they failed to stop St. Sophia School.
Meanwhile Vidya Jain Public School, Rohini ended the winning run of Titiksha Public School, Rohini as they beat the later team by five wicketsvin another qualifying knock-out match at Vidya Jain School, Siraspur today.
In the first innings, Manas Khemka of Titiksha Public School scored a blistering half-century but Vidya Jain Public School bowler Rajesh Sharma’svfour-wicket haul stopped them at 144 runs in 40 overs with the loss of eight wickets.
Vidya Jain batsmen played with stability and followed their tactics to achieve the target. Paras Khari (38 not out) and Akash Chaudhary (31 not out) took their responsibilities beautifully and won the match in 25.2 overs with the loss of five wickets.
