Two struggling teams of this season of Indian Premiere League will take on each other in match number 26 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Although Gujarat Lions won their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday night, the Lions bowling still looks a weak point.

On the other hand Kings XI Punjab have lot to think of before facing The Lions in their own den. They need to make some changes into the team before the match starts.

Suresh Raina – It was skipper Raina’s knock that brought the Lions home by four wickets against KKR. His 84-run knock was the match winning innings which allowed them to put up a good fight against the strong KKR side. His four overs were also proved useful. He was the one who picked Sunil Narnie’s wicket in that game. Raina’s ability as an all-rounder makes him the player to watch out for.

James Faulkner – The Aussie all rounder had a bad start to this season. He was expensive in his bowling spell against KKR. As all rounder his ability with bat and bowl can’t be ruled out. Faulkner is a genuine match winner. He was very successful with the Rajasthan Royals. Raina and Co will want James Faulkner to be as successful as he was with RR.

Brendon McCullam – Although McCllum has retired from international cricket long time back but his hitting power has remained the same. He is still lethal as he was earlier. McCullam’s aggressive batting at the top has been entertaining thing to watch in the Gujarat Lions camp. There are good match winners for the Gujarat Lions. They just need to push themselves up for the win.

Ravindra Jadeja – The number 1 ICC test bowler is not having a good time with ball. After coming back from the injury, he seems to have lost his bowling rhythm. Fortunately for the Gujarat Lions, his match winning knock will surely do him the world of good. Jadeja was the man who was there till the end in that win against KKR. He just needs to take that confidence into his bowling. Jaddu is an asset that a team would like to have.

Players to watch out for Kings XI Punjab against Gujarat Lions –

Glen Maxwell – Skipper Maxwell has been always a treat to watch whenever he is on song. After winning two matches on trot, KXIP lost the momentum. It is the skipper’s batting that will help Punjab to bounce back in this tournament. Like all the other Australians, Maxwell is the back bone of the Punjab’s batting.

Hashim Amla – The veteran opener from South Africa was a delight to watch against Mumbai Indians. Unfortunately his 104-run knock ended in the losing cause. It was a timely innings from Amla but the bowlers spoiled his party. Amla is not over yet and will be the player to watch out for against GL.

Gurkirat Singh Mann - He is the ideal bowler to replace Ishant Sharma. Mann can bring more bowing depth in the squad. He has been named as an all-rounder as he is handy with the bat as well. This can certainly change if Mann comes in the playing eleven instead of struggling Ishant Sharma.

Axar Patel – Patel has been decent with the ball. But a lot is expected from this young talent. He also needs to show his ability with the bat, then only he could justify his selection because he has ability to bat and crack some lusty blows towards the end.
