Haryana Premier League: Sirsa Warriors defeat Panchkula Warriors

Haryana Premier LeagueChandigarh: Sirsa Warriors defeated Panchkula Warriors by six wickets in the first match of Swarna Jayanti Haryana Premier League at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, here on Saturday. 

The championship was announced open by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with Gian Chand Gupta, MLA, Panchkula, Sandeep Modgill, Secretary, Haryana Cricket Association and cricketers Chetan sharma, Reetinder Sodhi and Joginder Sharma, Organising Secretary.

Batting first, Panchkula Kings scored 130/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Their innings was built by a perfect 70 runs contribution by Rahul Rana. His innings came off from 59 balls and included nine boundaries and a six.

Sansar Bali (19), Jatin Sandhir (10) Abhijeet Garg ( 9), Varinder Kaushik (3) contributed for the side in setting 140 runs target.

For Sirsa Warrior, Shiva Yadav returned with figures of 3 for 16 while Sarul Kanwar took 2 for 14. Vaveed Hussain also claimed one wicket for 20 runs.

In reply, Sirsa Warriors a fine contribution by opening pair Kapil Kumar (43) and Talwinder Singh (43) gave a solid start to the team. The duo was involved in a 118-run partnership for the first wicket. Sarul Kanwar (15) and Kapil Mehta (73) were unbeaten to confirm the win.

For Panchkula team, Anil Kumar took two wickets for 31 runs while Sunil Selwal claimed two wickets for six runs.
