Cricketers Kohli, Dhoni, Naik awarded Padma Shree

Virat Kohli PCThe present and the former Indian captains have been awarded the ‘Padma Shree’. Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have been given the country’s fourth civilian award. Indian Blind cricket captain also have been awarded the prestigious ‘Padma Shree’.

This prestigious awarded was given to these three players for their contributions towards the game of cricket. They are selected because of their exemplary performance, sheer grit and determination.

Virat Kohli, Ms Dhoni and Blind cricket captain Shekhar Naik are the famous names when it comes to cricket.

Blind cricket captain Shekhar Naik is from Shimoga, Karnataka. Under his team India won the blind’s T20 World Cup and the 50 over World Cup held in South Africa.
The story of the Blind cricket captain Shekhar Naik is about perseverance, determination and grit. He had to face many problems because of his eye disability and comes from economically poor background. He faced many hardships by losing his parents at the tender age of 12.

Naik has played 67 matches in span of 13 years and in all the forms of the game. In these 67 matches, the captain has scored 32 hundreds.
Despite of his disability, hardships in life, Naik has won against all the odds.

The other two awardees do not need any introduction. Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are the role models and heroes for youngsters. They have a heavy fan following not only in India but across the world.
