The Vintage Dhoni-Yuvraj partnership is back again. These middle order pillars have added maximum partnerships while chasing. They have delivered the most when team is really in big trouble. Out of ten match winning century partnership, six have come while chasing a total in the 2nd innings of a One-day International.

India vs England 2nd ODI: Yuvraj, Dhoni lead India to series-clinching win
• 158 run for the 6th wicket Vs Zimbabwe at Harare (2005): In the 6th ODI, Zimbabwe had set a target of 250 in 50 overs. In reply India lost the plot and the visitors were struggling at 91 for 5. Two young men from India -- Yuvraj and MS Dhoni were rebuilder’s of Indian innings. Their 158 run partnership gave them a platform to chase down the total. Yuvraj Singh scored a brilliant 120 runs and MS Dhoni contributed with being unbeaten on 67 runs. India won the match by 4 wickets and 11 balls to spare.
• 148 run for the 4th wicket Vs Australia in 2009: In the 3rd ODI of 7-match series, the Indian bowlers did well to restrict the batting power house of Australia for just 230 runs. India lost the momentum after getting a decent stat from Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. The hosts lost three quick wickets for just 51 runs. It was Dhoni and Yuvraj’s partnership that won India the game. Their partnership of 148 runs ensured that India won the match by 6 wickets and 10 balls remaining. Dhoni was not out on 71 and Yuvraj contributed 78 runs in that match winning partnership.
• 146 not out Partnership Vs Pakistan at Karachi in 2006: In the last ODI of the 5-match series, India conceded 286 runs to Pakistan in 50 overs. The unbeatable partnership of Dhoni and Yuvraj allowed India to push the hosts on back-foot. India chased down this total in 46.5 overs and with loss of only 2 wickets. Yuvraj Singh 107 and Dhoni 77 ensured that India wins the match by 8 wickets and 19 balls to spare. India also won the series 4-1.
• 105 runs for the 4th wicket Vs Pakistan at Guwahati in 2007: In the first of 5-match ODI series, Pakistan were restricted to 239 in 50 overs because of good Indian bowling. In reply, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh guided India to victory. Dhoni was the top scorer with 63 and Yuvraj scored 58 runs. India won the match by 5 wickets and 3 overs to spare.
• 102-run unbeaten partnership for the 6th wicket Vs Pakistan at Lahore in 2006: In the 3rd ODI, Pakistan went on to score 288 for the loss of 8 wickets. In reply, India fumbled despite of Sachin Tendulkar’s 95. It was Dhoni and Yuvraj’s unbeaten 102-run partnership that took India home. Dhoni scored 72 and Yuvraj scored 79. That took India to victory over Pakistan by 5 wickets 14 balls to spare.
• 101 not out partnership for the 5th wicket Vs Pakistan at Gwalior in 2007: This was the fourth ODI. Pakistan could manage only 255 in their 50 overs. While chasing this modest total India lost half of their side only for 159 runs. When Dhoni and Yuvraj came in India were in trouble. The Dhoni-Yuvraj pair added 101 runs for the fifth wicket. This was a match turning partnership for the hosts. India won the by comfortably 6 wickets and 21 balls to spare. Dhoni scored 45 and Yuvi scored 53.
