Chasing 316, India started off very poorly. The hosts lost their openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag very early. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli were left to do a big job. Both the batsmen played a superb knock. Their 224-run stand brought India back into the game. Fans wanted Virat Kohli to stay till the end. But he was dismissed after scoring well deserved 107, his first International hundred. After that, Gambhir didn’t stop. Chasing the target of 286, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane didn’t give India the start that they wanted. Both the Indian openers were dismissed for just 41 runs on the board. After their wicket, MS Dhoni decided to bat up the order. And this decision worked when he shared a match winning partnership with Virat Kohli. The 151-run partnership brought India back in the game. MS Dhoni couldn’t stay longer he was dismissed for well made 80. But the Kiwis couldn’t stop Kohli. He was unbeaten till the end. His knock of 154 runs ensured India’s easy win by 7 wickets and 10 balls to spare.

100 not out Vs Australia at Jaipur on October16, 2013: Chasing the target of 359, India was to off a great start by Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Dhawan was unlucky to be out on 95. But Kohli and Rohit Sharma ensured that India won the match by slamming tons. Rohit Sharma scored 141 and Virat Kohli scored 100, which was his fastest hundred. Both the batsmen remained unbeaten till the end.

183 Vs Pakistan at Asia Cup 0n March 18, 2012: Pakistan’s openers powered their score to 329 in 50 overs. It was Virat Kohli‘s 183 took India over the line. His partnership with Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma took India to the victory after losing Gambhir early.  India won this game by 6 wickets.
