Nawab of Najafgarh Virender Sehwag on fire in his second innings, takes Twitter by storm

virender sehwagHe is arguably one of the most feared batsmen of the modern day game and is right up there when it comes to holding many of India's most coveted batting records, including that of the highest individual Test score (now that gives it away, doesn’t it). On the contrary, however, he is a gem of a person to hang out with and is well known for his witty and humorous takes on issues spanning various trades. Yes we are talking about Virender Sehwag or Viru as he is fondly remembered.

Having successfully completed his first innings after he bid adieu to the game last season, Sehwag has had brief stints in the Hindi commentary box for Star Sports and attending various cricket seminars as the guest of honour. He is now ready to embark on a new journey in what marks the beginning of a new innings for the Nawab of Najafgarh on the social networking handle Twitter where he has taken it on him to entertain people in the best of ways and also see to it that the pride of the nation is intact.

This is in reference to the tweets by renowned BBC presenter Piers Morgan mocking India for the rather dismal performance in the Olympics and criticised the nation for wildly celebrating the two lone medals which we were able to win at the Games. Viru in his trademark fashion retorted to each one of Morgan's tweets in the wittiest but straightest of fashions which caught the Englishman off guard on numerous occasions.

Most recently, Piers had challenged Sehwag to one million rupees to charity if England win the ODI World Cup before India could manage to clinch a gold medal at the Games to which Sehwag responded saying that India has already won nine Olympic gold medals but England are yet to win an ODI World Cup.

Such tweets by the Delhi man only gets the average Indian eager to see him in the commentary box which would liven up any dull game multi-folds and add spice to the gentlemen's game. You never know, he could be the next Sidhu or a Shastri in the making!
