New Delhi: The national selectors once again showed faith in experience as Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh made the cut for the T20 squad for the Asia Cup and World Cup here on Friday. Pawan Negi and Mohammed Shami were also included in both the squads which will be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya also made the grade because of the impact they made against Australia, while Ajinkya Rahane and Suresh Raina were also in.

Delhi’s 23-year-old Negi, a left-arm spinner who can also bat, has been retained from the squad announced for the upcoming three-match series against World champion Sri Lanka.

However, the inclusion Mohammed Shami comes as a surprise as he is yet to prove his fitness after a injury kept him out of the series in Australia.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee and Women’s Selection Committee met in New Delhi to select India’s team for the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICC World T20.

The India Men’s team will play the Asia Cup in Bangladesh from Feb 24-06 March followed by the ICC World T20 to be held in India from the 8th March to 3rd April. Both the men’s and the women’s team will play in the ICC World T20.
