New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh’s stupendous knocks in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where hit 341 runs at an average of 85.25 to help Punjab qualify for the knockouts, was duly rewarded by the Indian selectors as he was selected for the T20 squad that will be touring Australia in January. However, the southpaw wasn’t considered for the ODIs.

Indian will be playing five ODIs and three T20Is against Australia starting January 12.

Yuvraj’s friend and Punjab team-mate Harbhajan Singh too made it to the T20 team along with Ashish Nehra. Ravindra Jadeja’s superb all-round performance in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa, too, was rewarded as he was recalled for the T20 and ODI.

Suresh Raina and Bhubneshwar Kumar have been retained in the T20 squad, however, their poor form saw them being left out of the ODI team.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami is making a comeback after being sidelined since undergoing knee surgery after a brilliant show in the World Cup Down Under. Ishant Sharma, too, has been rewarded with an ODI spot.

Two new young stars Gurkeerat Mann and Barinder Saran from Punjab too have got a call in the ODI team.
