New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir has been left out of the India Test squad after his woeful form. Selectors and the captain had shown a lot of faith in him but somehow he wasn’t able to come off his rough patch.
However, the left-handed opener isn’t perturbed. He tweeted, "No sympathies please," after he was dropped from the side. Gambhir is well-known for his fighting abilities and because of this he used to dominate the bowlers by coming down the track and hitting them for huge sixes.
Gambhir has always meant a serious business on the cricketing field and he knows that this was meant to happen after his not so impressive form and his recent failure has let him down. His technique surely needs to be corrected to help him in rectifying his mistakes and set a strong foundation for his comeback to Indian squad.
He will be leading India A against the Australians in a three-day first-class tie and the 31-year-old Delhi lad is looking forward to that game.
"Looking forward to training and then the India-A game is lined-up. Chin up guys, it’s time to show some steel. I am happy for Vijay and Shikhar who made it to the side. I want Indian team to do well with me or without me" he further wrote on his twitter handle @5gautamgambhir.
Gambhir is no stranger to exclusions as he had been in and out of the India team during his influential years in international cricket. "Had my back against the wall in the past too, this is no different. Will fight," he commented.
