Boscawen Park: England Women defeated Indian women by three wickets to level the one-day series 2-2 with one match to go. England chasing a small target of 173 runs was made to battle hard and the match went down till the penultimate over.

Earlier in the day, England won the toss and elected to bowl first, India got off to a terrible start as their openers struggled to find any runs and eventually India lost their first wicket for the score of one run in the fifth over.

Captain Mithali Raj then took control and she along with Harmanpreet Kaur increased the run-rate, together they put on 86 runs for the third wicket.

England also had a sedate start and they kept losing wickets at regular events. The middle-order looked solid as every player got off to a start and brought the target in reaching distance. In the end it was Jenny Gunn’s unbeaten innings of 36 that took England over the line.
