Kuala Lumpur: India beat Nepal by a huge margin of 81 runs under the Duckworth Lewis method to qualify for the semifinals of the Under 19 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament here today.

India who were bundled out for 176 bundled out Nepal for 91 thanks to Vikas Mishra who picked up four wickets. Nepal were set a revised target of 173 in 47 overs after play was interrupted briefly.

India aided by skipper Unmukt Chand (47) and Baba Aparajith (55) put up a decent score on the board after being asked to bat first.

Chasing a small target, Nepal never looked like that they were up for the task and were all out in 27.3 overs. 

Bhuvan Karki, who took three wickets top scored for Nepal with 24 of 29 deliveries. He was the only saving grace for Nepal as other batsmen could never pose any threat to them.

Earlier, except for the duo of Aparajith and Chand who put on 64 runs for the second wicket, none of the Indian batsman could come in terms with Nepalese bowlers.

Along with Karki, Rahul was the other bowler who shone with ball and scalped three wickets.

India now take on Sri Lanka in the second semifinals on Friday.
