New Delhi: Former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram believes that India is the best team on-paper for the Asia Cup that kicks-off today. He said that the depth that the Indian team has in their batting and the variety in their bowling gives them an edge over other participating teams.

The Asia Cup will see the host Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India fighting for the cup. Going by the recent form Sri Lanka looks the best team as they were close to winning the recently concluded CB Series. Apart from them all the teams have been struggling, Pakistan lost badly to England in one days and India failed to reach the finals of the tri-series and Bangladesh are still looking for that path-breaking performance.

Akram said that Pakistan has always been an unpredictable team and if they get their act together than they could be very dangerous. For Sri Lanka he said that the team has had a good run and they will be very confident going into the tournament.

Akram said that the Indian team will be desperate to get some wins under their belt and will be looking forward to performing well in the Asia Cup.
