Ganguly lauds Kohli’s century against Lanka

Sourav Ganguly lauds Kohli’s century against LankaNew Delhi: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly lauded Virat Kohli for his blitzkrieg knock at Hobart against Sri Lanka in tri series and said that the knock was just unbelievable.

“Just unbelievable! Virat Kohli’s superlative knock and based on that India’s unbelievable victory at Hobart had raised a hope but finally India haven’t qualified for the tri-series finals,” Ganguly wrote in a column of Deccan Chronicle.

“Although we are all pretty upset about it, deep inside we need to agree that the two best teams on form have qualified for the final showdown in the tournament,” he added.

Virat’s exceptional knock of 133 in 86 balls helped India achieve an epic victory as they chased down a target of 321 within 37 overs.
Adding to it, Ganguly also wrote that Indian cricket is heading towards a downfall and it is required for the board to take stock of the situation.

“Since the World Cup victory Indian cricket’s fortunes have turned around massively and for me Indian cricket is at the crossroads and the selectors have a very important role to play from now on,” he added.

Indians have lost eight test matches in a row, a record which has not been achieved by Indian cricket in the near past and the selectors can’t let this go unnoticed,” said the former Indian skipper.
