What started out as a fun tournament among corporate houses has turned into the biggest corporate sporting tournament in the country named The Legends Cup. Top companies of India represent themselves in the football field and battle it out to win the competition. Known corporate houses like Google, Accenture, Samsung and HCL are the participants among other top companies.
January 2017 will once again bring to the forefront the biggest corporate houses fighting against each other, on the field. Legends Cup has given the employees of big companies an opportunity to showcase their lesser known skillset in football and be a star for their team. The 4-month-long tourney is played across 6 big cities in India i.e, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune. The 10th edition of the competition will see more than 300 renowned corporate houses battle it out for the footballing supremacy. The tournament includes many prizes for the corporate teams including a trip to Spain.
Legends Cup throughout its nine previous seasons has seen a huge increase in popularity. The amount of huge media sponsors backing the tournament has ameliorated each year. From Times Of India to Hindustan Times to Maxima, the media support has been immense for TLC 2017. They have had many top sponsors in the past like Audi, Adidas and Uber among others. Matches will be played in each city for two consecutive days over the span of 4 months, with each match having a time limit of 20 minutes. The age group of the players range from the young 21 to the matured 35. Irrespective of one's designation in the company, the players will stand united in the field to win the reputed corporate tournament.
The coming leg starting from 21st Jan will be played in Mumbai. HDFC are the current defending champions and will be hopeful of repeating their last season’s success this year.
