New Delhi: The duo of Satish Mehta and Ravi Lamba won the Delhi leg of the Audi Quattro Cup 2012 presented by Audi Finance to qualify for the National final. In the qualifying round held at the Delhi Golf Club, Satish and Ravi combined to score 42 stableford points to pip the pair of Amarjit Singh Ahluwalia and Dinakar Marla on a countback.
The winning team apart from a berth in the National final were the receipients of a luxury watch from Carl F Bucherer who are the ‚“Official Time Partners“ while Millionnaire Asia is the Official magazine partner. Both the teams made it to the National final. The team of Sanjeev Gupta and Aditya Gupta ended up third with 39 points. A wild card entry was also picked during the prize presentation where the team of Jai karan Singh and Karanvir Singh emerged as the lucky winners. However they have to await the scores of 13 other teams to secure a National final berth.
Hosted by Audi Delhi, the one-day event saw the who is who of Delhi trying to earn the coveted place in the final. In the various skills competition held alongside the main event, Gurki Khera won the “Straightest Drive” prize on Hole No.6 and emerged as the proud winner of the Audi Experience where he gets to use a chauffeur-driven Audi A7 on the weekend. Mukesh Thakur won the ‘Closest to the Pin” award on Hole No.5 while Joydeep Nayyar emerged as the winner in the “Longest Drive” contest on Hole No.10
The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup will visit
13 other cities making it a 14-leg series and would touch almost 1600 golfers in all.
