New Delhi: Top seed Girish Koushik defeated Dhulipala Bala Chandra Prasad to maintain his sole lead in the Under-15 Open Category of the ongoing ONGC 7th Asian School Chess Championship-2011 here at Indira Gandhi Stadium on Tuesday. Meanwhile in the Under-15 Girls category, overnight sole leader Madhurima Shekhar kept her lead intact after settling for half point against Matta Theja Sahhethhe in the sixth round encounter.
In the Under-13 Open section, top seed Diptayan Ghosh leading the table with perfect score after sixth round matches and enjoys a full point lead over his nearest rivals. In the sixth round, he outwitted Nikhil Dixit while Iniyan P and Samriddhaa Ghosh are leading in the Under-9 Open and Girls categories respectively with perfect scores.
The seventh round matches are now underway at the time of report.
