Youth Chess: Nandhidhaa in sole lead

Brazil: Tamil Nadu youngster Nandhidhaa P V has taken sole lead with perfect score after fourth round matches in the Under-16 girls’ category of the ongoing World Youth Chess Championship at Caldas Novas, Brazil on Sunday.  Playing with white pieces against Women Fide Master Fataliyeva Ulviyya, Nandhidhaa had shown her supremacy in bishop and pawn ending to garner full point against her Azerbaijan rival. After a rest day on Monday Nandhidhaa will takes on top seed Ziaziulkina Nastassia of Bulgaria with black pieces in fifth round on Tuesday.


Mean while in the Under-14 Open category Diptyan Ghosh defeated Ding Jialin of USA to occupy the joint first spot along with Fide Master Bellahcene Bilel of France with four points.  In the Under-10 open category Rakesh Kumar Jena and Rathanvel V S are in joint lead with full points after fourth round encounters along with Li Ruifeng of USA and Zhu Yi of China while Bommini Mounika Akshaya sharing the lead in Under-8 girls category with full point in her kitty.

Earlier in the third round, Nandhidhaa beat Adriana Pachon of Columbia while her team mate in the same category Anjana Krishna shocked third seed and two times World Youth Champion Women International Master Marsel Efroimski of Israel.
