Lucknow: Seventeen seed Anjana Krishna S of Kerala caused a big upset, defeating second seed (WFM) Pujari Rucha of Maharashtra on the second day of the Dr. K.L. Garg National Junior U-19 Chess Championship at Bora Institute of the Management Sciences here on Thursday.
Tenth seed (WFM) Srija Seshadri of Tamil Nadu settled for a draw with twenty fifth seed Smaraki Mohanti from Orissa in the second round. In some other matches of round second, ninth seed Patil Pratik of Maharashtra settled for a draw with thirty-eight seed Arjun Satheesh from Kerala.
On the other table Ayush Panday of UP beat Dheeraj Sharma from Himachal Pradesh, Kumar Atul of UP defeated his state mate Asif Hussain Akhtar, Radika Garg of UP beat Chhatri Indu from Madhya Pradesh, Sanskrity Goyal of UP beat unseeded Parul Mukesh Kumar from Himachal Pradesh.
