Lucknow: Fifth seed Woman International Master (WIM) Lvana Maria Furtado of Goa settled for a draw with top seed Women Fide Master (WFM) Saranya J from Tamil Nadu in the 4th round of the Dr. K.L. Garg Memorial National Junior U-19 Chess Championship at Bora Institute of the Management Sciences here on Friday.
After the fourth round Saranya J has collected 3.5 points. In the other important matches of round four seventh seed WFM and U-14 World Champion Mahalakshmi M of Tamil Nadu beat top seed and highly rated Pratusha Bodda from Andra Pradesh in another key match of the day. While in the open category 19th seed Krishna Teja N from Andra Pradesh beat 11th seed Candidate Master Prince Bajaj of Delhi moves into the fifth round with 3.5 points.
An interesting game was played on the table two, where fifth seed Michelle Catherina P of Tamil Nadu beat her state mate eight seed WFM Monnisha GK.
Ayush Panday of UP beat unseeded Tushar from Himachal Pradesh, Kumar Atul of UP defeated lower seed Saksham Rautela from Uttrakhand, Radika Garg of UP beat unseeded Punjab’s Kajal Jagrosha.
