6th seed IM Ivana Maria Furtado defeated Delhi’s 12th seed Madhurima Shekhar. 4th seed FM Sayantan Das of West Bengal settled for a draw with Maharashtra’s 9th seed Pratik Patil. Sayantan has collected 9 points and still placed on top position in the Open section.
In another exciting encounter, 5th seed FM Aravindh Chithambaram Vr of Tamil Nadu played against state mate 8th seed Lokesh P, after toiling hard both the players agreed for a draw. Kerala’s 2nd seed Sunilduth Lyna Narayanan beat 16th seed Akash Pc lyer of Tamil Nadu. Maharashtra’s 3rd seed and International Master Prasanna Raghuram Rao placed on fifth position with 7 points after beat 34th seed Rakesh Kumar Nayak of Orissa.
Among the girls section, 7th seed FM Mahalakshmi M of Tamil Nadu beat her state mate 15th seed Varshini V and placed on second position with 8 points. Maharashtra’s 2nd seed FM Pujari Rucha beat 3rd seed FM Saranya J of Tamil Nadu. 5th seed Michelle Catherina P of Tamil Nadu beat her state mate 4thseed Nandhidhaa PV.
