Ho Chi Minh: Indian grandmaster Parimarjan Negi defeated Nguyen Anh Dung n the third round of Asian continental chess championship.  Negi was coming on the back of a loss against John Paul Gomez in the second round.

Another Indian grandmaster, Abhijeet Gupta registered a win in the third round against Irwanto Sadikin of Indonesia. Gupta just like Negi had a bad start to the tournament as he played a draw in the first round and lost his second round match against Chinese Wang Chen.
