Cappelle la Grande: Indian grandmaster Pentala Harikrishna was declared the winner on best tie-break score in the 28th International Open Cappelle la Grande which was held from March 3 to March 10, 2012 at the Palais des arts in Cappelle la Grande, France saw some interesting action. The tournament saw the participation from 497 chess players from around the world.
Five players shared the first place with 7 points each after nine rounds. Pentala Harikrishna and Parimarjan Negi were the two Indians in the top five along with Tornike Sanikidze from Georgia, local hero GM Tigran Gharamian, and the Ukrainian Martyn Kravtsiv.
