London: Mary Kom’s London Olympic journey came to an end after she lost to World number two Nicola Adams of Great Britain in the semi-finals of the 51 kgs women’s boxing event here at the Excel Centre on Wednesday.
Five times World Champion Kom who already ensured her of a medal even before she entered the bout could not match the speed and skill of the English boxer to go down 6-11.
Kom failed to win a single round out of the four rounds and the scores in each round reads as 1-3, 1-2, 2-3, 2-3.
The mother of two Kom increased her weight to 51 kgs from 48 whereas Adams came down to 51 from 54.
Adams beat Kom in the World Championships few months back and this is the first time that the legendary Indian pugilist lost a bout in succession to the same opponent.
