Indian boxers to train in Ireland ahead of OlympicsNew Delhi: India boxers who have qualified for the upcoming London Olympics will leave for Ireland for a fortnight-long training-cum-competition trip for their preparation ahead of the biggest sporting event. Only Vikas Krishan from the seven qualified boxers will miss the trip.

National coach Gurbax Singh Sandhu said that the main purpose for that is to get acclimatized with the conditions and the camp will also give Indian boxers an opportunity to see some local boxers and players from different teams.


L Devendro Singh (49kg), Shiva Thapa (56kg), Jai Bhagwan (60kg), Manoj Kumar (64kg), Vijender Singh (75kg) and Sumit Sangwan (81kg) are the six boxers who will participate in the camp.

Krishan would not attend the camp because he has to appear for his graduation examinations said Sandhu.
