New Delhi: The Multi Disciplinary Steering Committee of the Sports Ministry has approved the preparatory tournaments for Badminton Olympic qualifiers. The Committee met under the Chairmanship of Secretary (Sports) on May 18 and approved the following preparatory tournaments for Olympic qualifiers along with the sparring partners on the basis of proposal submitted by the Badminton Association of India.

I. SCG Thai Open GPG from 5th to 10th June, 2012 at Bangkok, Thailand for 14 Players, 2 Coaches and 2 Support Staff.

II. Indonesia Open Super Series from 12th to 17th June, 2012 at Jakarta, Indonesia for 14 Players, 2 Coaches and 2 Support Staff.

III. Singapore Open Super Series from 19th to 24th June, 2012 at Singapore City for 14 Players, 2 Coaches and 2 Support Staff.

During the meeting, It was also decided to reassess the requirement of sports equipments and procurement be made according to latest guidelines.
