New York: World No.1 Victoria Azarenka cruised into the third round of the US Open after she beat Kirsten Flipkens in the second round of the US Open. 

With this win she completed 50 wins these season and in the course became the second player to cross 50 wins on the season. 

Azarenka taking on the Belgian qualifier Flipkens won 6-2 6-2 in straight sets.

Russian will now take on no 28. Seeded Zheng Jie who decimated Slovakian qualifier Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3, 6-1.

Meanwhile Mandy Minella beat Czech qualifier Kristyna Pliskova, 6-4 6-4, whereas Anna Tatishvili whizzed past 6-7(5) 6-1 6-2 victory over Sorana Cirstea to cruise into the third round.
